Is there any other online service that is similar to Priceline and Hotwire for great deals on hotels?

Q. I've been having no luck in finding a 5 day hotel stay at a reasonable price for Virginia Beach seaside starting next Sunday. I've been using both Priceline and Hotwire over the last couple weeks. Can anyone give me any other suggestions for finding great hotel deals online?

A. You should definitely check out Hotels.com. I'm working with Hotels.com, and you can save up to 40% on hotels worldwide through the Hotels.com® Summer Sale. Plus, at select hotels, you will receive a free Flip⢠camcorder if you stay 4+ nights!

Also, Hotels.com is running a I Need a Vacation promotion, where you can win a vacation for life. To enter, submit the funniest, most creative and compelling photo of yourself that shows why you deserve a vacation. Flip⢠Ultra⢠camcorders are given out daily to the photo submission that receives the most votes that day as well as to one person who voted on a photo submission.

Best/cheapest way to get hotel deal in Vegas at late juncture?
Q. I already got my flights. Everything was ridiculously expensive (avg $650 for a RT ticket from Dallas) and I need a really good hotel deal to save some money and I'm currently 14 days out. Please help, thanks.

A. No problem...email me through my profile on here...I own a Las Vegas based travel agency and event management company. It's just a matter of finding the right property, room type, etc for you...based on the dates you are coming out.

I'm guessing you are trying to get a room at one specific property or from a small preferred set of choices. If it's one where I have my best "connections" at...I'll happily pass along the savings for you...14 days, etc...not such an issue...well, if it was New Year's Eve and you wanted the most 'in-demand' properties at the time...but I'd still get you some kind of perk.

How do you get the best rate on hotels?
Q. OK we all see these ads on TV about getting cheap last minute hotel deals. Well I cant seem to find any of these deals and was wondering if anyone knows any tricks or tips to getting the best rates. I am going on a weekend stay in Savannah and everything I see on the low rate websites is just as much as if I booked through the hotel. Anybody out there have any suggestions?

A. I know what you mean, whenever I check priceline, hotwire, or the other websites that say they have cheaper rates, i always find them to really be more expensive than booking from the hotel directly.

What I do when i want a low rate on a hotel is constantly, probably obsessively, watch the hotel's rates and as soon as i see that they are cheaper than usual i book my room. Not all, but most hotels will give you the cheaper rate if rates drop again after you book it, you would have to call to ask for them to do this though.

If you don't care what hotel you stay at you could try Priceline name your own price. I did this when going to Newport, RI for 2 nights and i got a room that was $240 a night on the hotel website for only 90$ a night.
