Seattle (and surrounding area) unique dinning?

Q. My boyfriend completely out-did himself for my birthday and I would like to return the favor! A fancy downtown dinner is just not enough. I want something unique. If we have to travel around washington that is ok, I may even find lodging in the area if it is worth it to travel that far. I looked at the summit restaurant on mount rainier which would be fantastic however they do not have anything available in April. Any other ideas??

-no argosy or waterways cruise dinner recommendations please. already done those :)

How much money should I bring for my trip to Japan?

Q. Some friends and I are planning on making a good 3 month long trip to Japan. We are considering backpacking to save on hotel fee's, but aren't ruling out the possibility. Are there any hostels in Japan? How much money should each person plan on bringing to support themselves for the whole trip? A. Coming over, eh? THere are also places called pod hotels, where you basically slepp in a pod, and everything else is communal. Those run about $30-35 a night.
