Whats a good vacation spot in NJ next to the sea?

Q. We were thinking maybe Cape May,or North Wildwood,NJ...please tell me if you know any good hotels/motels /B&B,s must have exellent ocean view from room ,must allow dogs(one small well behaved chihuahua, not a barker, very friendly to all people and animals.)
I prefer smaller places to larger ones and secluded......so with this in mind ,any suggestions? Thanks!

A. Those are the two places I was going to tell you, cape may and wildwood...you can also check out sea bright or point pleasant

What are some nice beaches similar to Virginia Beach?
Q. my family went to virginia beach for 1 week last year and we loved it.

we live in northern new jersey.
the farthest south we will travel is virginia.
the farthest is Massachusetts.

what are some nice beaches that are similar to VB?
we wont hotel-like resorts.

we went to cape may but didnt like it--we like places with big hotels at the boardwalk as opposed to houses.

A. I grew up on Manasquan Beach, NJ and am very partial to it. Similar to Virginia Beach, I would say, would be Atlantic City and Ocean City, although Virginia Beach is tops in my mind. Further south I like Myrtle Beach and Atlantic Beach, FL, or any of those south of Jacksonville. Of course Malaga, Spain; Tangier, Morocco; and Santa Monica, CA are REALLY nice. As a retired Navy CPO I have seen them all.

A. Myrtle Beach is a great place to vacation!!
Great time to visit, the weather is usually nice. Cool mornings & nights (light jackets or long sleeves). Sunny and warm (bathing suit temps) during the day.

Hotel prices range from nice/cheap to glamorous/expensive. There are houses for rentals, rv parks, state parks for camping and the prices for these are reasonable.

As far as attractions go...

Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede (dinner & show) $30
Alligator Adventure (Barefoot Landing) is great!! ($10/$15)
Ripley's Aquiriam ..well worth it ($15)
Alabama Theater (Barefoot Landing) $ depends on who's there
House of Blues (Barefoot Landing) $depends on who's showcasing
Ripley's Believe It or Not! (Ocean Blvd.) $ change depending on the season
The Bowery (Ocean Blvd) usually no cover
Great music/bar..starting point of country legends Alabama
There is an amusement park (small one) on Ocean Blvd. that's ok...the larger one (the Pavilion) they tore down last summer
Putt Putt golf..everywhere..prices vary, but most are 1 price and play all day
Water Amusement parks in Garden City, North Myrtle & King's Hwy. (moderately priced)
Legends (Impersonations) dinner show (Garden City) is cool.
Nascar Cafe, (You can race go-carts there too!!,Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock Cafe..(they just opened a Hard Rock Theme Park in June..it's similar to Six Flags)....near the Aquriaum
Myrles Inlet is crammed full of great restaraunts...
Casino Boats, Airplane/helicopter rides, Bungee jumping, boats & wave runners for rent...2 huge malls, lots of factory outlets for shopping.
Huntington Beach State Park has an old abondon castle you can roam around in ($3 fee for park entry)
BrookGreen Gardens (between Pawley's Island and Murrells Inlet) has beautiful gardens and unique (huge) statues to ck out.
Lots of great places to eat too.
They also have a live band & dancing on the pier at Garden City.
It's a great place, you won't be bored!!!
Hope I helped!!
