What are the areas in New York City that are not safe to stay/tour in?

Q. I'm looking for hotels and some cheap ones pop up but I do not know if the area is safe. A. Hi, Try staying in Midtown or either side of Central Park on East Side or West Side. Have a look at www.Hotels.com or Travelocity.com or Expedia.com. Here are some ideas of what you can do while in NYC. First, get a good tour map. Then I recommend you take the BIG APPLE double decker tour bus for an overview of the city. There are several different neighborhoods so I'll highlight these and what to see: Upper East Side: Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim, Whitney Museum. Walk up and down Madison Avenue for awesome shops and boutiques 96th - 57th st. Walk Park Avenue for architecture all the way to Grand Central Terminal and see the treasures located within. Walk along 5th Avenue to see/go in and out of Central Park - go for a run, go to the Central Park Zoo, go to the Carousel, go for a gondola ride at the boat house. UPPER WEST SIDE: Museum of Natural History -a must! on Central...

Q. I've looked online at the prices and was SHOCKED to see how much one night cost. We want to see Yankee stadium, Statue of Liberty and Time Square but don't want to go in debt doing it. Can you help give us some advise? We have FREE flying miles but overnght stay is expensive ! ! ! ! We have to eat too . . . . It would be in late October of this year. Any advise ??????? A. Ok to be completley honest with you, it is IMPOSSIBLE to spend less than $2000 for 4 nights in Manhattan......But this is my best advice to you. Stay at the Marriot Times Square it may be pricey but your in the middle of everything, it has a great night life, quality restraunts to chose from, and when you want to go to Yankees Stadium theres a subway station 2 blocks away(Grand Central Station) that will take you right there on the 4 train. Another thing DONT take the fairy to the statue of Liberty, i cant stress that enough its a tourist trap and they herd you onto this boat like cattle, its horrible...
