How much is hotel tax in Ireland?
Q. My wife and I will be traveling in Ireland next month and want to know what extra charges, like taxes, to expect from our hotels. We'll also be spending a night in Belfast and understand that we'll have to pay 15% for the VAT. Can someone confirm or correct this also? A. If your quoted price is from the hotels in Ireland chances are they are inclusive of VAT, so you won't be charged extra. However VAT in the Republic is 21.5% for goods, 13% for services and there is a zero rate for some items VAT in the UK is 15%, (I think).
