How much is hotel tax in Ireland?

Q. My wife and I will be traveling in Ireland next month and want to know what extra charges, like taxes, to expect from our hotels. We'll also be spending a night in Belfast and understand that we'll have to pay 15% for the VAT. Can someone confirm or correct this also?

A. If your quoted price is from the hotels in Ireland chances are they are inclusive of VAT, so you won't be charged extra.

However VAT in the Republic is 21.5% for goods, 13% for services and there is a zero rate for some items

VAT in the UK is 15%, (I think).

If your American the tipping culture is not as rampant here as there, tip the waitress after your meal, the taxi driver, and the hair dresser (if needed), no one else expects tips, such as bar men for example

A. Having pints of "Smithwickâs" from a tap and listening to bands at the Park Avenue Hotel (Belfast) pub. I had a great time visiting your country and city.

What happened in the 60's/70's in Belfast is in the past. There was only one time while I was over there, I did feel uncomfortable. Was when I had to say goodbye to all the good mates I made, at Shannon Airport when I flew via the USA back to my home in Sydney Australia.

Can anyone recommend the closest airport to Tottenham Hotspurs Football ground and also a close hotel to both?
Q. I am booking for me and my partner so see Spurs play on the 12th April flying from Belfast, i have never been to London or the football ground so dont know my way around, and as we are only staying the one night i just need to know what the best airport will be for us to fly into and hotel, both close to the White Hart Lane?

Hopefully someone can help me.

A. Stansted is the nearest airport.
There aren't any hotels around White Hart Lane - at least not ones I would stay at. Take the train all the way in to Liverpool Street and stay in the Travel Lodge.
