Can contractors have the following tax deductible?

Q. I lived in CA last year. My company sent me to work for another company in MI (onsite support) for 3 months. When I drove from CA to MI, I lived in the hote all the time. Comapny didn't give me any reimbursement because it is the contract position. After 3 months, I came back to CA again to work for a contractor too. 1. Are meals and hotels tax deductible? 2. How can I deduct the mileage that i drove from CA or MI, and from MI to CA? 3 . How can I deduct the deprecation of my car here? A. 1. All expences incurred by you to work away from home is deductable. Meals will be on a daily rate per day times the days away from home and that daily rate depends on the location because different areas have different daily amounts due to living cost per area and all lodging cost are deductable. 2. All mileage is the alowable cost per mile traveled from place of workplace area to home and home to workplace area but not the milage traveled on a daily baises to jobsite. 3. I dont think depr...

What is a good hotel to stay in Toronto?

Q. Planing on staying in toronto for a while and would a good hote to stay in. A. www.tripadvisor.com What is the best and worst quarters of Paris, France? Q. I don't mean in terms of tourism. I mean by the area itself. I want to rent a chambre d'hôte in Paris. But I want a place that is in a relatively quiet neighborhood, very non-tourist, friendly, and definitely has that French charm. What is the best quarter to stay in? Also, what are the worst quarters to stay/be in? A. You'll see tourists everywhere in Paris but much less at residential neighbourhoods. Considering all you mention, I think that the 17th district would be the best. It's quiet, safe, smart without being snob. Some streets are noisy because there are many stores (avenue de Ternes, rue de Courcelles, avenue de Wagram, rue de Lévis) but even those streets are very nice. Part of the 17th is not good, avoid the area around tube stations : Porte de Saint Ouen, Guy Môquet, la Fo...

What is the difference between a motel, a hotel, an inn, and a bed & breakfast?

Q. I just always wondered what classifications each one needed in order to be called a mote, hote, inn, and bed & breakfast. sorry if this is the wrong section. i really didn't know where to post it. :) yeah that's what i thought about them as well, but i didn't know if it was more to them than what i was thinking. A. A hotel is an establishment that provides paid lodging on a short-term basis. The provision of basic accommodation, in times past, consisting only of a room with a bed, a cupboard, a small table and a washstand has largely been replaced by rooms with modern facilities, including en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning or climate control. Inns are establishments where travellers can procure food, drink, and lodging. Bed and breakfast, also known as B&B, is a term, originating in the United Kingdom, but now also used all over the world, for an establishment that offers accommodation and breakfast, but usually does not offer other meals. Typically, bed...
