How to travel around in London?
Q. I plan to travel alone.
Travel for 7-9 days probably.
What are the public transports available? Are they convenient? Is it advisable to buy a travel card etc? I need more details for this.
Besides, what are some good local food?
Where to shop? Any factory outlets around?
What are the must-go places? except Big Ben?
If I have time, how can I travel to Liverpool, Manchester etc?
How much would I need for a week?
Do you know any hotels offer clean rooms with low prices?
Thanks :)

A. There are so many ways to travel around London. The Tube is great, as are the buses and walking isn't too bad, unless you have to go really far. There are also lots of taxi cabs around - just be careful though, as they can fleece you out of a lot of money. A travel card? I'd say maybe not if you are only going for about a week. There are lots and lots of shops in London. There is Covent Garden, where there are lots of markets and "different" shops where you can pick up a bargain!
There are many attractions in London - The London Eye, Madame Tussauds, The Tower of London, Buckingham Palace (the changing of the guard is good to go and watch) and there are also lots of west end shows to see in the West End of London. To get to Liverpool and Manchester, you can go on the bus or the train, which ever is more convenient. I'm not to sure how much you would need for a week, but if you have a bank card, there are lots of ATM's around London as well as a lot of banks.
There are so many places for food in London, it is untrue - pick a style, and eat!
If you want somewhere cheap to stay, try a hostel - there are a lot of them XD

A. I went to London a few years ago and to get around we used the "Tube" which is the English version of the subway, it was cheap and fast and got you basically everywhere.
If you want to shop you need to go to Harrods. It's a beautiful and famous department store. There are several floors and different things to see. Otherwise you'll just see stores as you're going and you can always pop into those.
I very highly suggest seeing a play at the Globe theatre. They did an excellent job with the play I saw and it was very cool. The theatre also has a very good restaurant I'd recommend. Another place to go is Piccadilly Circus which is basically the Times Square of London. Buckingham palace was beautiful, you can check that out. Tower of London was really neat too. It's where Anne Boleyn was killed and it's where they keep the crowned jewels (which were super cool.) Lastly, I'd recommend Hyde Park because it's just beautiful.
I don't have any specific numbers for you, but I do recommend looking into bed and breakfasts. They are cheaper than a hotel and you get breakfast. We stayed in them throughout our whole UK and Ireland trip and had a ton of luck.
We rented a car from the airport and drove out of London to Bath and York, both awesome places I'd recommend. We also hit up Stratford Upon Avon and saw all of the Shakespeare stuff. I'm sure though if you don't want to rent a car you can find a bus that'll go to where ever you want.
I hope this helps and that you have a great time!
