What time would Real Madrid practice at UCLA training facility for the USA Summer Tour 11?
Q. And if I can also know what days would they be practicing? And also what hotel would they be staying while in Los Angeles? Plz let me know. Thank You.
A. Not much is known at the moment other than they arrive on the 11th of July and train at the UCLA campus until the 24th of July when they have to depart for China and Germany to continue their tour. If all remains the same from the previous year they will be staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel and will attend two training session per day; one in the morning around 11am and another in the afternoon around 5pm.
What is the best way to get from Madrid, Spain to Gibraltar?
Q. I am going on a trip to Madrid and want to head to Gibraltar for a day whats the best way to get there?
A. The best way is probably to fly - the airline Andalus has direct scheduled flights from Gibraltar airport to Madrid Barajas airport.
See: http://www.andalus.es/
Currently for the autumn/non-peak-winter the flights depart GIB at 0825 and arrive MAD 0945. From MAD they depart at 1930 and arrive GIB at 2050.
Other options include taking a train from Madrid to Algeciras - the spanish town on the opposite side of the bay of Gibraltar. From there you can take a local bus to La Linea (the Spanish town on the border with Gibraltar).
However the line to Algeciras has not yet been upgraded to full high speed so it still takes a good few hours.
See http://www.renfe.es/
Finally the other option is to go via Malaga. You can fly to malaga airport (AGP) with a far greater choice of flights- or take the new high speed train to malaga.
To get from Malaga you can then take the bus (couple of hours) to Gibraltar. There are various ways to make this Malaga-Gibraltar connection, it is discussed on other yahoo answers.
Finally, you can take a bus I believe from Madrid to Algeciras (for La Linea > Gibraltar). However I believe this takes longer than the train, but it might be possible to do it overnight.
If you are flying direct to Gibraltar, which is the most convenient way, keep in mind that accommodation in Gibraltar is expensive (due to limited land area!) so for greater hotel choice people choose to stay across the border in Spain.
Crossing the border: The border between Spain and Gibraltar is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. On foot it takes under a minute to walk across, by car there can be queues due to the volume trying to cross (there is very limited need for a car in Gibraltar as a visitor - it can easily be more of a hindrance!)
Both Gibraltar and Spain are part of the EU - so any EU citizen can cross the border easily with their passport or ID card. Non-EU citizens should bring their passport. Note: If you require a visa for entry to the United Kingdom, that is a reasonably guide for whether you require a visa for Gibraltar. It can be applied for from British embassies and high-commissions worldwide.[The visa however is a separate visa to the UK one, specify which ones you are appying for.]
However, people from most countries do not require a visa (such as USA, and many other countries), you just need a passport.
If though, you need a visa for Spain (schengen area), make sure it allows multiple entries to spain / the schengen area - as you will leave it when you enter gibraltar and re enter spain on your return.
Keep in mind that although Gibraltar is part of the EU it is outside of the common customs and VAT area of the EU. As a result, there is norequirementt to charge VAT sales tax in Gibraltar, however it also means that the standard customs limits apply for goods you export from Gibraltar (such as 200 cigarettes, 1 ltre of spirits over x% etc) - without the payment of duty.
Finally, the Gibraltar-Spain border is crossed by thousands of people every day - it is an easy and simple border to cross. Please don't let anything above make you think it is a difficult or demanding border - it is not.

I am looking for February flights to Madrid, but the price keeps fluctuating! Should I book now or wait?
Q. From NYC to Madrid for 8 nights in February. I checked a month ago, which was the lowest price, then it went up, then back down, and now it's back up again. Any way to predict the cycle? When should I book it? This is a present to my parents so I have to book before Christmas. Do it now or wait until right before XMas for cheaper rates?
