What is the best hotel to stay at while at Lackland AFB?
Q. We will be in Lackland from Sept 26-30 to see our son graduate from Basic Training. We want to be near the base but are getting really discouraged reading hotels reviews - some say they are UNSAFE and DIRTY while some say those exact same hotels are GREAT. Please be as honest as possible and help us figure out where to stay. There will be 3 of us - my husband and myself as well as our 13 year old son staying there. We are coming from Maine and have never been to Texas. We plan to visit the Riverwalk and Seaworld while there.
A. The La Quinta Inn received 3 stars out of 5 according to Google Maps. There are 37 reviews - many of them were positive. There's also the Holiday Inn.
What does it mean when Americans say "their chicken burgers also went down nice and easy"?
Q. Does that mean they're so fat that there's actually a lot of food that doesn't go down nice and easy?
I went to some hotel review sites and all the American tourists always seem to talk about is eating. Mostly the same kind of stuff they have in their home country like burgers, hot dogs, chicken burgers at the pool. They never really seem to bother to find out anything about the country they're visiting.

A. first of all since it is a review of the hotel, those people ate what the hotel served and if your countries hotels decide to serve American type food, it is NOT the tourists fault. AND why would the review list foods from elsewhere?? Its the hotel review.
Look up your countries typical restaurants reviews to find out what tourists thought of THAT food.
You cannot expect answers about local food if you are only looking at hotel reviews. Why would anyone talk about food elsewhere?
And just by reading a hotel review, what makes you think these people never found out anything about the country they were visiting? You might want to look up tourist reviews of your country, not a freaking hotel...

How can I find a good hotel?
Q. I'm going to visit my boyfriend for a week or so in december, and it's very emotionally hard when every hotel review says horrible things, especially when I'm on a very tight budget and trying to have enough money for enough nights and not stay in a craphole. Can anyone help me? Please. I'm looking at about 40 dollars a night here.
A. I always read the reviews on TripAdvisor.com, but you won't get a lot for $40 except maybe a Super 8 motel.
