A. Some great places to visit on your trip are the Mackinac Island Butterfly House, Haunted Theatre, ride on a horse-drawn carriage, The Grand Hotel is very interesting to see. You'll want to go horseback riding at Mackinac Island State Park. There are plenty of hiking and biking tours available on the island. Joanne's Fudge is yummy. May Candy Shops has many flavors of fudge to eat, like Cherry, Rocky Road and Peanut Butter, to name a few. They are both excellent places for fudge. Some good malls are Surrey Hills, Lilac Tree Mall located downtown, and Carrousel Shops on Market Street. They have all the souvenirs and more that you'd want.
As for what to pack, I'd be prepared for both fall and spring weather. It can be a little chilly in the evenings this time of year so bring a sweater or light jacket. It won't be cold enough to snow, so don't worry about that. It can warm up nicely in the daytime, although I wouldn't take too many pairs of shorts. I don't think it'll be warm enough for shorts or bathing suits for swimming. Bring an umbrella in case it rains. Dress casually. Practically everybody is on vacation on the island.

Where to honeymoon in southeast wisconsin on a budget?
Q. We live in Southeast wisconsin, about an hour south of Milwaukee. We are looking for things to do for our honeymoon, and our budget is about $1000 for 6 days. Neither of us have ever been to Michigan, so we were considering going there, but we have heard that it is basically like being in Wisconsin. Going to Mackinac Island would probably be our big visit there. Suggestions on places to go in Michigan or somewhere besides Michigan?
A. $1000 for two for six days is impossible.
Just look into nice hotels in your area or about an hour away.
Make it a long weekend stay.

How much does it cost on average for one person to stay @ Mackinac Island for a weekend.?
Q. Not including ferry tickets or the hotel stay. Just for food and other expenses. Only serious answers please! Thanks.
A. It depends on what you do. If you just plan on exploring you can save money by walking or bringing your own bike across. Food is not cheap. Many gas stations and rest steps have travel guides that carry coupons.
