What are the best party hotels for Memorial Day weekend in Jamaica?
Q. We are from Miami, FL more specifically South Beach, so we know how to party. A group of us are trying to plan a trip to Jamaica for Memorial Day Weekend 2013. What are the BEST party hotels in Jamaica. Money is not an issue but we are not looking to spend something ridiculous lol. Help us out askers!! ;) peace and love
A. Jamaicans, of course, won't have a clue why you're getting all drunk and noisy, so it might be better for you to stay at an American hotel Like the Hilton where they understand American drunkenness. If you carry on noisy & drunk on the street, you could get into trouble.
What is the most likely route by TAXI from JFK to The Pier at Bayonne?
Q. My partner is travelling from The Doubletree hotel in Jamaica NY to the Pier at Bayonne and is wondering if the journey by taxi will pass by any well known landmarks?
Actually it is by Shuttle, not taxi, so maybe more hotel pick ups.

A. Likeliest route is the Belt Parkway. You'll get a glimpse of Coney Island, but not much else in the way of well known things. Perhaps in crossing Manhattan you's get a glimpse of the construction around Ground Zero
Where to stay in Jamaica and how to keep safe?
Q. I'll be traveling to Jamaica for my 18th birthday next summer (2014) with 3 or 4 friends. I'm going for the night life, I love Dance Hall and all that good stuff. So I'm not looking for an inclusive resort just for a nice hotel in Kingston, Jamaica. I want to be able to hang out with locals and drink at local bars and dine at local restaurants. How would I go about keeping safe? Do you suggest I carry pepper spray or a small pocket knife? I'm definitely going to be at Quad night club most nights of the two weeks I plan to stay. Just wondering if anyone has been there?
A. If you are going to go drinking, you will be looking for trouble.
If you really want to be safe in Jamaica, do not go to Kingston.
Generally, Jamaica has one of the highest crime rates in the Caribbean,
so you will only be safe in a well secured hotel if you don't want to stay
at an all-inclusive.
Most of all if you want to be safe, do not go travelling around the island at
night because if your rental car has problems, there is no telling what will
happen. Overall, the best places to stay are either in Negril, Montego Bay
and Ocho Rios.
