Recommendations for hotel in Miami that is on the beach?

Q. We're looking for a good to upscale hotel in Miami or South Beach that is directly on the beach (basically where you can walk from the pool right onto the beach). Anyone have good experiences with any specific hotels?

A. the new crown jewel of miami beach is the W hotel, second choice would be Delano, i dont like Ritz south beach (not great)

How expensive is Miami for spring break?
Q. I'm in my senior year of college and I want my last spring break to be memorable. It's going to be in March, and I need to know how much I am looking at spending. I know it is going to be a lot, but does anyone know of any good restaurants and affordable hotels in Miami? I need some help slimming down my research. Thanks

A. Miami is pretty expensive- I would say for a week plan on spending at LEAST a grand between your hotel, food, drinks, etc. There are other places that are a lot more affordable and a lot more exciting, like Panama City or Daytona beach. My friends and I are renting a 2br condo w/ full kitchen and dining on the ocean in the hub of Daytona for only $100 a night, split 5 ways. Might want to look into something like that!
