Is it safe to walk around mid-town Manhatten at night?
Q. Specifically near the hotel pennsylvania area. Planning on seeing a musical at the saint james theater the day I arrive which is at 8 probably end around 10. So would it be safe to walk back around that time? It's like a 15 minute walk supposedly? Or should I hit up a taxi on the way back? Also is it easy to get s taxi in NYC?
A. Midtown is fine and the Hotel Pennsylvania is located right across the street from Penn Station/Madison Square Garden. There is a almost always a heavy police and/or military presence in this area - you'll be fine.
(Besides, trying to get a cab after theaters let out is next to impossible)

A. The Eden Resort is nice (they recently remodeled) and near routes 30 and 283, which will take you to most places you'll want to go. They have indoor and outdoor pools, and a couple of different restaurants.
There are lots of chain and independent hotels around the Strasburg/ Paradise/ Intercourse/ Ronks areas. I've never stayed at any of them, so I can't say for sure what their quality is.
Whatever you do, do not stay at the Days Inn on Keller Avenue. It smells, some of the employees are rude, and there have been numerous shootings and robberies there.
