Can you reserve the Yosemite Ahwahnee dining room for a wedding?

Q. I am absolutely entranced by the dining room at the Ahwahnee Hotel at Yosemite National Park. I intend to hold my wedding ceremony at the hotel and would like to reserve this incredible dining room for my reception. Is it possible to reserve the entire dining room for such a purpose?

A. No - unfortunately the dining room is classified as a "public room" meaning it can no longer be reserved for exclusive private functions. The most common place in the Ahwahnee used for receptions is the Solarium, a very pretty, but much smaller room.

How far is the Tenaya Lodge from the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite?
Q. We are going to a wedding at the Ahwahnee and we are staying at the Tenaya but I think it is kind of far away.

What do I wear to California?
Q. I'm going to Yosemite National Park for 6 days and I have no idea what to wear. I'm also staying at the Ahwahnee hotel and my parents say I need to look classy there one night for dinner.

A. hot during the day cold at night. bring a sweatshirt. bring shorts. theres a chance that there will be overcast so bring sunscreen, you dont want to look burnt!
