How do you get a corporate discount card for hotels?

Q. What sort of id is used to receive the discount rate for the self employeed person. Is there a card you can get (not a credit card) to receive this discount or do you just use your id/business cards?

A. To be honest, I have never had a hotel ask for any sort of ID. When checking in, (or making a reservation), I just stated that I am here on business.

If you travel alot, consider getting a AAA card. It allows you greater discounts, and I have used the roadside as well.

PS, should they require some sort of ID for a corporate rate, just show them a business card. That should do the trick as will.

Good Luck!!

How do I politely ask for a discount in River Plate Spanish?
Q. I am reserving a hotel in Montevideo, Uruguay that I have stayed at several times in the past. I want to ask for a discounted rate this time because the last time that I stayed there the lady who owns the hotel told me to ask for one during my next stay, but I'm not sure how to say it politely... Can I say:

Podes darme un descuento, por favor?

:)

A. If you are foreigner your language perfection won't be taken into account in Uruguay as well as in Argentina. We go to the point with foreign people and we understand requests even when people from other cuntries don't know the best way to speak or to ask things. I mean that the main is that you make yourself to be understood. Anyway other chance to ask for a discount could be:

En base a que soy cliente desde hace un tiempo, ¿sería posible que me hicieran un descuento en la reserva?
Necesitaría que consideraran un descuento sobre mi reserva, debido a que me está costando pagar lo que ustedes piden actualmente. ¿Lo harán?
Necesito que reconsideren esta tarifa, porque actualmente no puedo pagarla. ¿Sería posible que me redujeran el costo esta vez?

getting married soon and staying at the hotel the ex is an employee at?
Q. im getting married in 2 months. the venue is about 45 minutes aways so eliminate more stress we have decided to stay close to the venue the day before and the day of the wedding. my soon to be hubbys ex (and mother of his son that we ALWAYS have :) works at the hotel that we plan to stay at. she has offered us her discount rate for rooms and everything. my question: does anyone think that is weird?
we see her on a daily basis. and we all get along. they have not been together in years.

A. A discount is good. Since there is no reason to avoid this woman, go stay at the hotel. Save some money.
Best regards!
