Is there a hotel in London (by Nat Hist Museum) which will allow 2 adults and 3 children to share one room?
Q. HI we want to visit London but can't find a hotel which will allow us to stay in one room. The children are 4, 6, and 8 years old. Any recommendations?
A. You could try renting a room a few tube stops or a 30 minute walk at the Astor Museum Hostel, next to the British Museum. Not bad money either, but you'll have to book ahead. You might all sleep in twin beds, but you can probably get a room for all of you with one or two beds to spare. If not there, try for other family rooms at hostels. Not the chicest places to stay, but good bang for the buck in a city that will eat your dollars alive. Have a great time, and be sure to visit the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden-very hands-on and very fun for all ages!
Where can I find apartment hotels in London?
Q. I'm going to uni in september 2006 and my parents + uncle are coming with me so they need to stay somewhere obviously. they want to stay in an apartment hotel for about one week.
Can you guys please tell me names of Apartment Hotels near Waterloo or a place where I can get to Waterloo easily through the tube?
Names, details, website, phone etc of the hotels would be appreciated or even a general website which can give me useful information on a range of apartment hotels.
Thanks

should I get a hostel or a hotel while in London?
Q. I want to be safe so thats the only reason I have doubts on staying in a hostel... How safe are they for a 21 yr old girl? And what area of London should I stay in?
Thank you!
Thank you!
A. I really wouldn't recommend staying in a hostel on your own in London. A lot of the homeless women wander around begging £15 so they can get into a tourist hostel for the night because the homeless hostels are full. If you were a backpacker with tons of mates I would say it would probably be fine as you'd have a laugh but on your own it might be a little scary sharing a room with strangers.
There are tons of cheap hotels in London which may not be the nicest but at least you'd have a bed to yourself and somewhere safe to keep your stuff.
Try www.laterooms.com or www.lastminute.com for cheap rooms. Remember, the further out of the centre you are prepared to stay, the cheaper it will be. There are underground trains until midnight and after that there are licenced mini cabs, black cabs and night buses if you fancy a late night. Remember if you're on your own, don't get too drunk because there will always be dodgy people willing to take advantage of people who would normally not even talk to them.
There is no one area that is safer than the other although if you are going out at night, most of the tourists head to Covent Garden or Leicester Square. I can vouch for Roadhouse in Covent Garden as being a friendly place with loads of tourists open till 3 where you will always bump into people to chat to. Belushi's round the corner is a favourite of Australians and South Africans and they run a pub crawl from there most nights.
Try the following areas for hotels / guest houses: Earls Court, Bloomsbury, Bayswater and Pimlico.
Also try www.smoothhound.co.uk for B&Bs.
