What hotel is recommended to stay in Las Vegas?

Q. I plan to stay with my family a couple of days in Las Vegas, and did a reservation in the Luxor Hotel.
I liked Luxor because of the good promotions they have, such as the "all you can eat" package and the Criss Angel shows they offer.
However, due to the bad reviews I have read about this hotel, I might cancel the reservation and might consider other Hotel.

Is Luxor a good option...?
What other hotels can you suggest me with similar or better promotions?

Thanks in advance.

A. Luxor is an Ok hotel but not the best deal you can get on the strip. Here are the problems with the Luxor.

1) There is a resort fee of $14.50 they will tag on per day. So whatever they are quoting you is plus the resort fee per day.
2) Criss Angels show sucks and is actually one of the worst shows in Vegas.

Here are comparable hotels that will give you a better deal for the money.. Flamingo, Aria, Bally's, Imperial Palace, Planet Hollywood & MGM Grand. Here are some discount codes. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/harrahs-discount-codes.php

If I stay at the Luxor can I go to the Mandalay Beach?
Q. Self explained in the subject. If I stay at the Luxor Hotel, can I go to the Mandalay Beach Pool since they are the same hotel connected company?

A. No, access to the Mandalay Bay Beach is restricted to guests of Mandalay Bay or THEhotel. They do allow non-guests to rent cabanas Mon-Thurs, which gives you access to the pool, but not free access obviously (they start at $200 a day). Mandalay is known to have some of the toughest pool security as well.

what is the cheapest way to get from the airport to luxor?
Q. I'm going to Vegas on Thursday and was wondering if it's cheaper to take a cab, or a shuttle from the airport to the Luxor hotel.

A. If one or two passengers then use the shuttle. Three or more then use a taxi. The taxi is much faster as the shuttle will make stops at other hotels to drop off other passengers.
