I am looking for a hotel to stay at for a girls' weekend in Chicago. Which one should I choose?
Q. Right now I am currently looking at these three:
Renaissance Blackstone Chicago Hotel
The Congress Plaza Hotel
Monaco Chicago
Thoughts?

A. The Blackstone and Monaco are both very nice. Check on the Wit. It is inexpensive on weekends and is trendy. The Monaco is closer to more bars and restaurants.
How much would a taxi cost from cannes (france) to Monaco and vice versa ?
Q. I am currently booking a holiday in the french riviera, although cannot afford the expensive hotels in monaco, so have opted to stay in a cheaper hotel in cannes, although will be spending most day in monaco, does anyone know the cost of the taxi's ? or any other cheaper method of travelling to and from these destinations (think they are approximately 32 miles apart. Bear in mind that I will be travelling nearly everyday to and from the locations (7 day holiday).
Many Thanks,

What is the best downtown Portland hotel?
Q. My girlfriend and I are going to be in Portland in late May for a weekend and we have never been there before. What are some of the best hotels in the area? We have done some research and right now the Hotel Lucia, Monaco, Westin, and Fifty are in the lead. We wanted the Ace but it was full. We are 30, love good restaurants and want to be able to walk to most things. If there are any smaller hotels we might have missed or cool spots we should check out, we would appreciate any advice.
A. I have stayed at the Westin, the Embassy Suites and the Governor and they are all nice and in good locations. I haven't stayed at any of the others, but heard good things about The Nines.
Embassy Suites was probably the best for location and it was a solid pick. It was close to the waterfront and Saturday Market. There are some good bars and restaurants nearby. It is really close to Kell's and VooDoo Doughnuts.
The Westin was a little farther away from most of the stuff we like to do, but Portland's downtown is easy to navigate. My wife loved the beds there -- extremely comfortable. IIRC, it was like $20 to park our car there and I couldn't find a place on the street anywhere within about a mile.
I think the Heathman and Hilton are longtime Portland downtown favorites, too.
