Is it safe to leave valuables/money in the hotel in jamaica?
Q. I'm going to a 2.5 star hotel that seems to have a good reputation with regard to service. Will I be okay leaving my money there or should i carry it around wherever i go.
A. Few hotels IN THE USA are safe enough for you to leave valuables and be sure to come back and see it!
If you are staying at any hotel (whether 2.5 star or 5 star) its always best to use the safe provided (if it looks decent). The other option is to not to carry any very expensive or irreplaceable stuff on vacation.
Hotel cleaning staff ARE HUMAN BEINGS. You do not want to leave temptation for the one person who might be having severe problems that day...its not worth your stress.

What is the best vacation city in Jamaica?
Q. I want to go to Jamaica for a weekend (in January most likely) with my boyfriend. We are college students so we are on a budget. What is the best vacation city in Jamaica? Hotels? We'd prefer to stay on/near the beach. If anyone has any suggestions it'd be much appreciated! Thanks!
A. Negril is the spot. But I'm not sure if it's worth just a weekend trip. You really need a longer amount of time then a weekend. Let's assume you live in Miami. Getting to MIA prior to flight--1 hour. Flight from MIA to Montego Bay--1 1/2 hours. Clearing customs and getting to Negril--2 hours. If you are lucky and catch a late Friday evening flight OK, otherwise 4 1/2 hours minimum gone on Saturday morning. Getting from Negril to Montego Bay, checking in--2 hours. 1 hour wait at airport. 1 1/2 hour flight home. Clearing customs--1 hour. Getting from MIA to home--???. If you are luck and catch an 8 PM flight from MoBay, that gives you a best case of 42 hours in Negril. As for staying in MoBay, there is no "city center", the beaches are mostly man-made.
Save your money and wait a while until you can enjoy more then a weekend in Jamaicamon. As for going over spring break, hotel prices in Negril (party central) will go up.

What's the best websites out there to book an all-inclusive trip?
Q. I'm planning a group trip for Spring '11 and I'm interested in a good website that offers a great price on an all-inclusive hotel for either Jamaica, Riviera Maya or Grand Cayman. I'm trying to see if doing an all-inclusive hotel (and adding airfare later) will be cheaper than doing a cruise to these locations.
If you know of any good sites (and some good hotels at these locations too), promo codes, or any good deals, please let me know :) Thanks a bunch!
