Any advice for someone traveling to Frankfurt for a week?
Q. Im going to be spending a week in Frankfurt in early August. Does anyone have any tips, recommendations as to where to stay, what to see, what to do?
In addition, how are the people towards the Americans? Hows the weather? And how expensive are things?

I have never been in Frankfurt, it´s the economic capital of Germany, but no typical tourist place.
Where to stay depends on your age and money. Cheap but of good quality are hostels:

Hotels are comparable cheap in Germany, you pay less for a single room then for a double room. But you should make a reservation in the internet or in a travel agency before, never go directly in a hotel, the prices are much higher.

Most people speak good English, at least in every hotel or official place. The weather usually is good in August, is one of the most warm months. But it already cools down in the nights, you should take a jacket with you.
Germany is comparable to USA in the costs. Supermarkets are cheap, so you can live cheap if you want. Petrol is quite expensive if you want a rental car or take a taxi.
If you take the train you should look for special offers, public transport in cities is not very expensive.
Americans are sometimes seen to be superficial and loud, maybe it´s good to be a little reserved.
But you will have no problems with the people.

What would be a good retirement package for a small 20 room german hotel?
Q. My dad has been friends with the owners of a hotel in Germany for 20 years. The owners are an old couple whose daughter is not interested in taking over the business. I don't have the money to buy the building, but I have heard a retirement package works, I give them a percentage of the profits. So what would be a fair retirement package? They don't pay morgage on it and they don't have internet, or anything high tech, just a tv in most of the rooms and breakfast served in the morning.
A. The best thing to do would be to travel to Germany and look at it and see how much work can be invested in it. Or how worthy it is. that way you can negotiate better for any other deals. I live in frankfurt germany and I know the standard of hotels cause I worked as student in some really small family hotels with nine rooms to five star hotels. I know the market well.

A. I believe Chicago O'Hare is a hub for United, and flies direct to Frankfurt either on United or Lufthansa.
If you haven't checked both the United and Lufthansa websites, do that.
Also, I'd consider signing up for some frequent flyer programs and credit cards. I did that with Delta and less than 6 months after ordering my card, I've got close to 100,000 miles racked up by using the partner dining and shopping programs.
