How far is Claremont, CA from Pomona,CA?

Q. I live in L.A and I can pretty much get to Pomona like in an hour. I want my parents to Claremont because I want to see a college campus (Pitzer College, one of the Claremont Colleges) However; I want to know how far it is from Pomona?

A. When driving from LA, Pitzer is about 6 miles past the Pomona Fairplex where the LA Co Fair is held.

FYI, this Sunday from 1pm - 3pm, at the Glendale Hilton, there is the Claremont Colleges Reception, where representatives from the colleges will discuss the benefits of attending the colleges. It looks like while you can't register online anymore, you can register at the event. There is no charge, except parking at the hotel if you can't park on the street.

Besides the basic campus tour, Pitzer offers high school seniors a full day tour, and also an Overnight Visit from September to April. Not many of the local colleges offer the overnight experience.

Can you walk away from the talking points for a minute and answer this?

Q. I worked for about 4 years in La Jolla and Del Mar California, truly a beautiful place to visit, if you get a chance. In a lot of the canyons that weave through the $600,000-multi million dollar homes from Claremont to Oceanside, there are migrant farm camps. This is no real secret in San Diego County. These people in these camps who live in the elements that are shot with pellet guns and run out by the cops regularly work for some of the people who live on these hills. Maybe they garden. Maybe they are nannies. Maybe they work in the Carlsbad flower fields. Maybe they do the cooking at Aviara country club or one of the other coastal hotels or farms in the area. They put in work, but they don't get the benefits for that work. Their employers can afford million dollar homes and expensive cars and barely pay these people who live in the valleys the money to go to Jack in a Box.

Why is the creation of a defacto slave populace acceptable to those who advocate open borders?
To answer a few people who have posted. The situation these people live in, while not slavery de jur (By law) is still de facto slavery (as a matter of fact) because they are so deprived of funds that they will put up with anything to get the cents on the dollar they get here.
I didn't post this as a way to say "deport them all." Our country's unemployment sits between 3-5%. There are jobs to be had here. My concern is if businesses NEED these workers, then why are we as a society allowing them to rob them daily with a wink and a nod. Why are we then being asked to subsidize that need?

A. Well put. A star for you! That is exactly what is going on here. I have posted to this fact several times. But the pro-open border people just don't get it. That is why I say that there should be serious penalties for anyone who uses illegal labor. Maybe even pro rate the fine based on how rich the violator is. But since big money rules the land, nothing like this will ever happen.

Do not stay in the super 8 hotel in 3054 N Oxford St?

Q. We stayed in the super 8 hotel in claremont nc on oxford street. We woke up covered in bed bugs bites.

A. Ew! Once I went to a hotel and the very same night we got there,my brother got seriously sick. Then my sister, then me. D:
