How much can I expect to pay for hotel in California?

Q. So I am planning a trip to California over the summer break. I will be driving cross-country and I plan to stay in Los Angeles for about a month, maybe a little more. So, I was wondering what I would expect to pay for a cheap hotel for that amount of time. By cheap I don't mean one of those really sketchy hotels where horror movies happen but a somewhat decent hotel that's reasonably priced and if any of them have special deals for longer term guests. A. First thing to take into consideration is your age. You'll have problems if you're underage. Hotels have age restrictions and most require that a person be 21 years old to check in. You will have to present photo ID and use a credit card issued to your name in order to check into a hotel no matter what your age.

The hotel websites usually list whether their age restriction is 21 or 18, you'll have to check with each hotel you're considering.

"Cheap hotel" usually translates into a dingy hotel with dirty rooms, broken plumbing, bedbugs, hookers and druggies in the hallways. So check out hotels carefully, remember your personal safety is more important than saving a few dollars.

Motel 6 and Super 8 motels are usually reliable, but each should be scoped out individually. Mptel 6 have the lowest rates, and a lot of the properties have been renovated recently. They might be a good choice for you.

The major tourist hotels will be well over $150 per day and most limit guest's stays to 14 or 21 days.

What is one of the cheapest hotels in Los Angeles walking Distance to Disneyland?

Q. I need help because my auntie and her 3 kids and my mom and i are going to Los Angeles CA. We want to go somewhere really cheap because were only staying for a few nights and her kids dont like the fancy expensive places. We need like a pricing range of 50 -80 we dont care if its motel 6 or anything just need a place to stay for 3 nights ...

A. Los Angeles is nowhere near Disneyland, love.

Any ideas for stuff to do while driving up the CA and OR coast?

Q. Need help planning road trip from Los Angeles to Portland. Where to go, what to see? Stuff that isn't too out of the way of the coast. Looking also for campground suggestions. Cheap hotels and places to eat as well.

A. Oh, you are so lucky and I am jealous...I want to go to Portland soooooo bad!....That being said, I can only give you advice while in California...

Campgrounds:

1) Big Basin
2) Pfeiffer Big Sur (also have cabins)
3) Butano (just inland of Half Moon Bay)
4) Elk Prairie (North of San Francisco)
....These campgrounds are all off Hwy 1 in Northern California, and they're all beautiful...Butano has some walk-in campsites, and they're simply gorgeous.

Places I like...

1) San Luis Obispo (Woodstock Pizza is a local hangout)
2) Pacific Grove/Monterey (Go to Bubbagump's restaurant,
it 's really fun!)
3) Santa Cruz...It's unique, and somewhat eerie little beach town.
4) I LOVE San Francisco!!!!!....North Beach (Italian district) has a couple of great jazz clubs, and the Mona Lisa restaurant is really good...Golden Gate Park is huge and beautiful...Buena Vista Bar (near the Wharf) is a neat little pub (the first Irish Coffee in America)...You can take a boat tour to Alcatraz from Pacific Wharf....don't forget to take a drive down Lombard St....and so on...If you stay in Frisco, you can buy a transportation day pass (trolley, vintage bus, etc), it's a lot easier than driving, and the taxi drivers are just plain crazy, so don't step off a curb or you just might get your toe severed....As far as places to stay in Frisco, I've only stayed in Bed & Breakfasts there, and they're not cheap.
5) Napa (if you like wine tasting, this is nice place to go...We took the Beringer tour)
