Q. I'm doing a video project and going year by year to show which songs shaped rock and roll. Here's what I got so far.

A. Great List. I think a slightly modified approach would be to ask, "who shaped rock & roll," and not be afraid to include multiple songs by the *really* important individuals or groups.
Who are the most influential individuals/groups in rock history? IMO, there are four who stand so far above everyone else that no explanation of their stature is needed. These four each changed *everything*. I think it distorts and minimizes their importance, each of whom has dozens of highly influential songs, to take only one song from them, and one from groups that were practically one hit wonders (e.g., Lynyrd Skynyrd)
Elvis - "Can't Help Falling in Love"
Chuck Berry - "Hail, Hail, Rock & Roll"
The Beatles - "Sargent Peppers," "Helter Skelter," "Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight"
Bob Dylan - "Blowin' in the Wind"/"Like a Rolling Stone" (Ya gotta get Like a Rolling Stone in there;-))
Others who are a notch below these four, but far more important than anyone else on the list, and deserving of more than one song (with a brief explanation why):
The Who - Tommy, Baba O'Reiley, Won't Get Fooled Again - The first punk band (What could more punk than smashing instruments at the end of a show?); Invented the rock opera genre; Invented heavy metal (Listen to the fifteen minute version of My Generation on Live at Leeds and you can hear them doing it)l. Related, first band to use volume effectively, and not be loud just for the sake of being loud.
Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run, Streets of Philadelphia, The Rising. He may or may not have "saved" rock & roll, as many have claimed, but he has been putting on the archetype rock show for almost 40 years. When you were lucky to get an hour, twenty minute show from the Rolling Stones, or an hour, forty from the Eagles, Springsteen was doing 3 1/2 to 4 intense hours *every* night. At 60, he is still doing it - and he has over 300 songs to chose from, at least 50 of which are rock classics. He has single handedly changed the quality and length of live concerts. Every young band should see him.
Rock & roll is best live and loud. The songs often become dramatically different, enormously better, when heard live.

There's also Dinos, next to the Train Station,
For a club there's Majestyks, which is also next to the train station,
If you want to go Posh, the how about a meal in a hotel, try the Raddisson on Headrow, The Merrion near the Merrion center, or the Queens near the station,
There is also a really nice noodle bar opposite the station but I can't think of the name,
